What is asphalt?
Hot mix asphalt is a mixture of sand, stones and petroleum products.
Various sizes of aggregates are heated, then mixed with 300 degree AC OIL. The hot asphalt is then immediately delivered to location and applied to the surface of a graded and compacted aggregate base. A paving machine is used to lay an asphalt 'mat' of uniform consistency. The resulting asphalt 'mat' is then rolled to bond the mixture and remove air voids that may be trapped throughout the asphalt.
